Texas Women and Girls in STEM Summit

Join the Texas Girls Collaborative Project for our 2nd Annual Texas Women and Girls in STEM Summit Friday, December 7th from 8:30 am - 4:30 pm at the Engineering Education & Research Center (EERC) at UT Austin. This special event is designed to share best practices, connect organizations and individuals, and showcase outstanding efforts to increase the number of girls in STEM and support the retention of women in STEM careers. STEM professionals and all who are engaged in education, outreach, recruitment, and/or retention of women and girls in STEM are invited to join in.

DFW CSTA Members Call for Proposals, 2nd Annual Collaborative Conference

DFW CSTA Members, the 2nd Annual Collaborative Conference is coming up February 23rd, 2019 for all high school teachers who teach any of the following courses: 

  • Computer Programming
  • Advanced Computer Programming
  • Computer Science I
  • Computer Science II
  • Computer Science III
  • AP Computer Science Principles
  • AP Computer Science A
  • IB DP Computer Science SL/HL

Applications are now open to present at the 20th anniversary CSTA Annual Conference, July 7-10, 2019 in Phoenix, Arizona. Submit your application by 11:59 PM PT December 2nd, 2018. Each of the three days of the TRC 24th Annual Meeting were punctuated by awards presented to teachers, Collaboratives, and Project Directors, all of whom exemplify the spirit of excellence that has marked the 25 years of the Texas Regional Collaboratives program. The STEM Center is proud of the dedication and hard work each awardee has shown in the name of improving the teaching of math and science in Texas schools. Congratulations to all of our 2018 award winners! 

TRC 24th Annual Meeting 2018

The TRC Annual Meeting brings together teachers, education and business leaders, policy makers, and legislators to celebrate and recognize the achievements of the TRC's state-wide collaborative network. As a three day professional development event, the Annual Meeting provides teachers breakout sessions, featured speakers ranging from STEM education researchers and innovators to business leaders and STEM professionals. The Annual Meeting also provides teachers with the opportunity to network and share ideas with fellow educators from outside their region and across the state. It’s also a lot of fun, with hands-on activities, games, cheers, and even some pirates.

WeTeach_CS Announces 2018 Change Maker and Mini-Grand Award Recipients during Summit

Sponsored by Oracle Academy and Texas Instruments, the awards are not only a way to recognize the dedication and vision of exceptional teachers, but also to inspire the community as a whole to keep working for improved and expanded CS education in Texas. This year, WeTeach_CS presented eight teachers with Mini-Grant Awards, eight teachers with Change Maker Awards, and for the first time recognized two exceptional administrators with Change Maker Awards of their own.

2018 WeTeach_CS Summit – June 18-20

The WeTeach_CS Summit is a 3-day event which educates, empowers, and inspires K-12 CS teachers, advocates, administrators, professional development providers, university instructors, and policy-makers to advance the goal of CS for All in Texas and beyond. This year’s Summit will be held on the shores of the San Gabriel River at the Sheraton Austin Georgetown Hotel and Conference Center in Georgetown, TX, just outside of Austin. Approximately 450 CS champions will be in attendance.
