Congratulations to Tara Bennett from La Grange High School on designing the winning T-shirt for the 2019 WeTeach_CS Summit! Tara is a Computer Science and Technology Applications teacher who also runs the La Grange High School Media Club. Tara will be recognized at the Summit and will attend for free! Thank you, Tara, for a an excellent and super fun design - we look forward to seeing everyone in these shirts at the event.

DFW CSTA will be hosting the 2019 DFW CSTA Collaborative Conference at Plano ISD Academy High School (1701 Alma Drive, Plano, TX 75075) on Saturday, February 23rd. Our sessions are now confirmed. Take a look at what we have to offer here. We have added an optional networking opportunity and robotics showcase. We are working on getting funding for lunch. Stay tuned for more information.

Registration is free for the event and closes Friday, February 15, 2019.

Presentation proposals for the WeTeach_CS Summit to be held June 17-19, 2019 in Georgetown, TX are being accepted. As you submit your proposal please keep the following in mind:

- Sessions will be 1 hour in length
- Wifi internet access will be available for you and participants
- Participants will be asked to bring their own devices, please specify in your description if your session is device specific

Texas Women and Girls in STEM Summit

Join the Texas Girls Collaborative Project for our 2nd Annual Texas Women and Girls in STEM Summit Friday, December 7th from 8:30 am - 4:30 pm at the Engineering Education & Research Center (EERC) at UT Austin. This special event is designed to share best practices, connect organizations and individuals, and showcase outstanding efforts to increase the number of girls in STEM and support the retention of women in STEM careers. STEM professionals and all who are engaged in education, outreach, recruitment, and/or retention of women and girls in STEM are invited to join in.

DFW CSTA Members Call for Proposals, 2nd Annual Collaborative Conference

DFW CSTA Members, the 2nd Annual Collaborative Conference is coming up February 23rd, 2019 for all high school teachers who teach any of the following courses: 

  • Computer Programming
  • Advanced Computer Programming
  • Computer Science I
  • Computer Science II
  • Computer Science III
  • AP Computer Science Principles
  • AP Computer Science A
  • IB DP Computer Science SL/HL

Applications are now open to present at the 20th anniversary CSTA Annual Conference, July 7-10, 2019 in Phoenix, Arizona. Submit your application by 11:59 PM PT December 2nd, 2018. We encourage educators from all grades and experience levels to consider submitting a proposal. We’re looking for proposals from educators that are:
